Cities globally are competing with each other in terms of their attractiveness. Tourist attractions have long relied on advertising to drive visitors to their offerings. Raising awareness and increasing the visitor’s desire to see an attraction is critical to maintaining a sustainable activity or venue. With many forms of advertising, it’s very difficult to correlate the advertising to actual visitors. How many looked at the advertising? What percentage that viewed it actually moved forward to visit? Does high quality video attract more eyeballs than traditional signage? How can an advertising solution be created that not only live streams 4K content, but also collects data that can be analyzed and used to determine the effectiveness of the signage?

The solution consists of a 4K camera located at an interesting display at a venue, a fast broadband network, a large 4K display located at a place with heavy traffic such as an airport or a station, and some sensors to monitor and collect data about the viewers of the display. In order to collect actual follow up data relating viewers to actual visits, some type of sensor is required at the venue too. Analytics are also part of the solution, as the raw data requires massaging and analysis to obtain key insights.
