Welcome to the ng Connect Program blog – our tool for sharing with the world the news and views from our rapidly growing, next generation network initiative.
The ng Connect Program launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year and received significant positive coverage from press and analysts, who stated that the initiative was “innovative”, “welcoming to smaller startup companies… [and] industry giants Hewlett-Packard and Samsung” and that it was a “great time to launch a program like this.” At the show, we also featured some cool demos including:
- next generation music experience with Buzznet and TuneWiki
- viral advertising application in a multi-screen environment with 4DK Technologies and Total Immersion
- e-Healthcare application allowing patients to be monitored remotely by mobile handsets and televisions via handhelds by Samsung and HP
- 3D multi-player mobile gaming experience with FISHLABS
This is just the beginning. We are committed to exploring the art of the possible – an enhanced end user experience based on exciting innovations in compelling content, multi-capability and smart devices, and the rock solid networks that will be needed to support them. In fact, check out this video, produced by Alcatel-Lucent, of some members talking about the ng Connect experience and the need for ecosystems.
We are excited to keep the momentum going with our presence at International CTIA Wireless 2009 this week in Las Vegas, where we have announced new members Atlantic Records, Kyocera Communications Inc, and LearningMate and MediaTile, and are featuring two new demos. Come check us out at the Alcatel-Lucent booth, #6714!
With the launch of this blog, program members will contribute posts regularly on a wide variety of topics including the connected car, augmented reality, digital signage, e-healthcare, cloud computing, social networking and the next gen music experiences.
